What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is:

God is Holy, we are not.

He cannot and will not abide sin in His presence.

BUT

God is love.

In order to express His love and to complete His mission which is to draw all to Himself for His own glory, without compromising His holiness, He presented a perfect unblemished sacrifice to take the penalty for our sin.

That sacrifice is His holy and perfect son and partner in the Trinity, Jesus Christ. Because Jesus is God, He is not bound by the trappings of human flesh, and after His human death, He defeated death and sin and returned as the still holy and perfect Son of God in order that we may have redemption through our sin debt having been paid. Now redeemed through the sacrifice of Jesus, we are able to come to God unblemished, in order that we may give Him all glory and praise!
